Technology Pioneer 2006, World Economic Forum
Monitise was recognised as a technology pioneer by the World Economic Forum on the strength of its ability to 'deliver change on a global scale'. As a result of the award, Alastair Lukies, Monitise CEO, is now a delegate to the Forum's annual meeting at Davos, where he serves on a number of committees. This includes the 'unbanked' committee, which is focused on improving access to financial services on a global scale, where Alastair sits alongside Queen Rania of Jordan and Melinda Gates of the Gates Foundation.
The Banker - Technology Awards - Retail Banking Innovation Award 2007
Monitise was presented with the Retail Banking Innovation award on the strength of its ecosystem model and its success in the UK market. The judges felt this had made mobile banking simple and, as a result, has a better chance of uptake since it is easy for banks to plug into and it uses the existing interbank channels.
The Mobile Messaging Awards - Innovation in Messaging 2007
Monitise won the Innovation in Messaging award due to the success of its UK MONILINK platform. "The MONILINK service stood out as truly innovative, and its initial success supports our prediction that the mobile banking and finance industry presents a huge growth area," said Mike Grenville of 160 Characters, a member of the awards judging panel. "With international potential, Monitise reflects a growing trend towards payments and money transfers on mobile."
